Personal, Social and Emotional Development

Personal, Social and Emotional Development is split into 3 key areas:

  • Building Relationships
  • Managing Self
  • Self Regulation

This term we are focusing on the following areas:

  • Self-regulation - Recognising own feelings, following a sequence of instructions
  • Managing self - knowing right from wrong
  • Building relationships - forming relationships with peers.

At home, you can support your child by encouraging them to identify and recognise their own feelings and how we show these feelings. How many children's names can they remember from either Penguins or Elephants class?

Our PSED text this term is The Colour Monster which will support our understanding of recognising our own feelings.

We are also introducing our school learning values with a key focus on our Support Penguin. We are thinking about how to help and support each other.

We will be celebrating difference as part of our Jigsaw PSHE learning with Jigsaw Jenie.
