Edward Kennedy Ellington  was born April 29, 1899  and died May 24, 1974. He was better known by this name Duke. He was an American composer, pianist, and leader of a jazz orchestra, which he led from 1923 until he died.

What can you find out about Mozart? He was born 265 years ago but we still talk about him and listen to his music today.

Year 4 Term 2- this is a body percussion challenge. Can you remember the different rhythms and note lengths we have been learning? Have a go!

Year 3 Term 2 - we have been learning about how METAL instruments are made and how to play them. Watch the video about percussion instruments.

On the 16th of December it would have been Ludvig Van Beethoven's 250th Birthday!

You could design him a birthday card - we will display them in the Music Room.

Beethoven is most famous for 4 notes that he wrote for his 5th symphony. He had difficulty with reading and maths and once said 'music comes to me more readily than words'.

Some of his most important music was composed during the last 10 years of his life when he was very deaf.

London's Green Park on 27 April 1749.

The effects of music lead to “higher-than-expected levels of endurance, power, productivity, or strength.”

Term 5 Challenge - write your own song that teaches people about the importance of washing our hands or standing apart from others at the moment.
