Tuesday 26th March Dover and Deal Handball Tournament

The year 5/6 Handball team played some fast flowing and exciting Handball throughout this tournament. In the group stages they won 1 and lost 2 games which meant that they did not progress to the semi-finals. In a friendly match against Whitfield they saved the best till last taking complete control of the game and went on to win 4-0. Well done!

Friday 8th March Dover and Deal Swimming Gala

Our swimming team participated in this annual gala displaying determination and resilience. All the swimmers swam to the best of their ability with a number of children making it through to the finals. The star of the gala was Alfie Wynne who secured a silver medal in the year 5/6 50m freestyle. Great swimming by all who competed!

Tuesday 5th March Year 4 Squash Tournament

Our year 4 squash team competed in this local tournament today. The teams had to engage in a number of different events to improve the skills required to play squash. What a performance our put up! They were accurate, quick and their throwing and catching skills were amazing! The whole team clearly enjoyed this experience and when all the points had been added River finished in 1st place! Well done to you all.

Monday 14th January Infant Agility Festival

A team of very excited year 1 and 2 children competed in this festival. They had to take part in a rotation of events to test their throwing, jumping and aiming skills. All of the children tried their best and really enjoyed the experience. The best part, in the children's eyes was the running relay races at the end! Well done to you all.

Friday 7th December Dover and Deal Sportshall Athletics Competition

Our year 5/6 athletics team competed in this event following the same format as the year 3/4 competition. The field events were extremely competitive with everybody having to really dig deep to achieve their best. The relay track events are so exciting at these events with the children running as fast as possible,going under and over obstacles and really challenging themselves to go just that little bit quicker. Our team finished in 8th position. Well done to all of you!

Friday 7th December Dover and Deal Year 3/4 Sportshall Athletics Competition

Our year 3/4 sportshall athletics team competed at this event, taking part in a number of track and field events. The track events are very exciting and competitive with the whole team giving it their all! The field events require the children to jump and throw as best as they can to gain points towards the overall score. When all the points had been added River finished in 5th position. Well done!

Tuesday 27th November Dover and Deal Basketball Tournament

This was the first time that we as a school have entered a competitive basketball competition. Both of our year 5/6 teams enjoyed the experience, developing their skills within basketball as the tournament progressed. Both teams tried the best however were unlucky not to progress from the group stages. We will be back next year! Well done to all who played!

Dover and Deal Year 5/6 Football Tournament Tuesday 13th November

Both our A and B teams played in this tournament. Our A team lost 2 games and drew 1 so were unfortunate not to progress through to the 2nd round. Our B team won 1 and lost 2 so were also unlucky not to progress into the later stages of the competition. We will move forward to our next challenge having gained experience from today. Keep going boys!

Dover and Deal Tag Rugby Festival Tuesday 9th October 

River took part in this participation event giving 6 teams; a total of 42 children. For some it was their first experience of tag rugby and representing our school. All of the children improved their tag rugby skills and certainly had fun! This was an excellent afternoon of tag rugby for both the children and the staff that supported them.
